If the code works fine for you, it is better to go on as it is a well-known library. n"} Conclusions =========== We have studied the Pauli Hamiltonian in graphene as a non-trivial application of a recently developed technique to tackle a generic Schrödinger equation with a position dependent mass. Starting from the exact solutions in the massless and massive cases, we have derived the radial equation of a generic Pauli Hamiltonian with a mass term in the radial and angular directions as well as with a radial and angular mass term. The radial equation provides us the most general form of an effective mass that we need in order to solve the Schrödinger equation in graphene. Furthermore, we have made a particular choice for the mass terms in the radial and angular directions and computed its effect on the graphene spectra and also on the energy levels of a hydrogen atom in graphene. We have analyzed the main problems that arise when working with the mass term in a generic radial Hamiltonian and suggest a simple way to deal with them. We have also solved the Schrödinger equation in the presence of the mass term and calculated the corresponding energy eigenvalues. We have also found the radial equation of the non-relativistic Pauli Hamiltonian in graphene. In the future, we intend to extend this analysis to a more general case with an external scalar potential term and the spinor nature of the wave function. Finally, we intend to apply the method presented here to other systems of physical interest such as Dirac fermions in graphene nanostructures with the aim of obtaining the effective mass in a more realistic situation.
